Life is so impermanent that it’s not about somebody else or things around me, it’s about knowing you are completely alone in this world and being content inside.
– K.D. Lang
From the Windy Hill, they return to the spot where their fate was sealed in Udo. BY and DH stroll along the path that leads to the lighthouse. BY wants to have a chat with SJ, probably for the last time. DH helps her to the big rocks, and leaves her by herself for her heart-to-heart chat.
Dad asks who the nicely wrapped gifts are for. His wife says it’s for DH’s mother. Aww, she has accepted the fact that BY is truly DH’s wife and it’s only appropriate to follow through. The hospital is in a financial crisis and she has put up their home for sale and secured a loan too. A rather accountable Chairperson of an organization, yes?
BY, DH and Dr. K enter the room and her parents are happy to see her. BY smiles broadly and shares her achievement of reaching the Windy Hill. Mum shoots a worried look to DH. BY assures them the DH carried her most of the way.
DH apologizes to BY’s mum, promising a proper wedding when BY gets better.
Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance.

In BY’s ward, they both enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling of a couple who have decided to take the next big leap being husband and wife. She fingers the bracelet and surmises it must’ve been expensive. “Of course it was expensive!” DH says and inquires if she wants the wedding to happen after she has recovered somewhat. She doesn’t mind skipping the wedding ceremony, but DH says the event is also an expression of thanking her parents for raising her well.
DR. K’s office
He gives DH a list of medication for BY in case she slips into one of her heart-stopping episodes again. Don’t be flustered and be stable by her side. Dr. K even offers to stay over at DH’s place once in a while since he spends most of his nights with BY. He confirms that BY needs to stay in the hospital a while longer and he is there to protect her. PR agrees he should do so, and she hopes to marry someone just like her Dad. My eyes are smarting… 😥
I would rather die a meaningful death than to live a meaningless life.

BY has just opened the door to allow DH exit from her life and she walks back to a very uncertain future…
I was confident… I was confident of everything. I thought I’m allowed… I thought I’m allowed to meet you. Thank you I’ve been really happy… I made too many promises I can’t keep… I’m so sorry
Once… just for once… please hold me.
Don’t go anywhere from now and stay with me.
DH: Hello (This is Lee Hyuk Soo, BY’s father – Dad) Ah, hello. (I’m sorry, but I was wondering if you met BY by any chance – Dad) Yes. (You met her? I can’t reach her so… Is she ok? Are you with her? – Dad) Not now. (No? She left? – Dad) Yes.
Dad: When? Where to?.. Hold on. I have an incoming call. Okay. Thank you. Bye.
Sad things happen. They Do. But we don’t need to live sad forever.

DH waits and waits at the restaurant for BY, but she is already admitted to the ER due to her sudden breathing difficulty. He is the last customer still seated at his dining table. Finally, a text message comes through:
I’m sorry. Something urgent came up. It’ll take some time. If you go home first, I’ll call you later. I’m sorry.
Dr. K tells BY her heart was temporarily distressed due to recent events. He tells to rest in the hospital for the night and they will perform a biopsy on BY the next day. BY tries to wiggle out of the overnight stay and affirms of her return to the hospital tomorrow instead. We know she wants to see DH so badly. Dr. K relents and will prescribe her some meds, reminding her to not overthink or get herself distressed over matters that may affect her heart…
It’s not the winning that teaches you how to be resilient. It’s the setback. It’s the loss.

Mum misses the hug scene entirely, but she is no less surprised to catch BY with Mr. CEO in a rather intimate moment. BY was caught off guard and stutters to introduce DH who had already taken a few steps forward to “rectify” the situation once he knew who the visitor was.
CW: Pack up and come down.
She does not want to know anymore than what she has seen. DH advises BY to follow as requested and squeezes BY’s arm a couple of times to reassure her that everything will sort themselves out…
Kam Woo Sung’s handwritten note to the fans of Spring Day of My Life:
In the letter, the actor wrote, “Now that we are past the halfway point of this drama, I think I can say that it has gone according to plan so far. It could have been very clichéd, but due to the sophisticated skills of our director, all of the actors and actress have been able to feel at ease.”
Kam Woo Sung continued, “It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that I actually made up my mind to take this role because of how it ends. It has a very unique ending and a beautiful female lead. I am sure that it will exceed the expectations of most of the viewers who have watched the drama since the beginning. I am also excited as we getting close to the end now.”
He ended the letter on a sentimental note, writing, “I think the best ‘spring days’ of my life are right now.”

A hug is like a boomerang – you get it back right away.

Y’all know this is coming. So this is just to feast our eyes a little bit longer 😀
They are sitting on a bench in a park nearby and BY confesses she thought it might take awhile before DH would show up in front of her again, but she thanks him regardless, for returning to her so quickly. DH doesn’t think BY should thank him for that. Later, she might think “whatever happened on Udo, stays in Udo.” It was just that perfect. She shakes her head slightly and smiles.
