Or should I say “Oh my Bae“?!
Can’t help but think of the classic “Three Men and a Baby” movie (omaigad it premiered in 1987 ) which depicts the adventures of three single men as they try to adapt their lives to pseudo-fatherhood with the arrival of the love child of one of them.
For the KDrama version, it’s the opposite instead: Jang Ha-Ri (Jang Na-Ra) is a 39-year-old single woman who is very aware of her biological clock. Ironically, she works at a parenting magazine company, “The Baby.” Being a workaholic, she has not taken any pleasure in dating for the past 10 years and has pretty much given up on finding love or getting married.
But her desire to be a mother became an all-encompassing goal especially after finding out that her health condition may rob her of that possibility. Knowing the deadline given to her before undergoing an irreversible surgery, Ha Ri amps up her focus on becoming a mom – STAT.
Han Yi-Sang (Go Joon) is a freelance photographer who took a sabbatical to pursue hobbies that give him joy. He may look like Mr.Grumpy Pants (make that HAWT Mr. Grumpy Pants), but very professional and enthusiastic where his work is concerned. Deep down he really is a good person who is careful of giving his heart to someone else again. Yes, he was in a serious relationship prior to meeting Ha Ri.
I MISSED YOU, BAE! ❤
Look up Misty, and you’ll know what I mean 😉
Yoon Jae-Young (Park Byung-Eun) works as a pediatrician. Being Ha Ri’s childhood friend, he ends up staying at Ha Ri’s home after a divorce with an extremely cute baby girl in tow (she’s so ADORBS!).
Finally, Choi Kang Eu Ddeum (Jung Gun-Joo), an obtuse rookie employee at Ha Ri’s company with a heart of gold. Always an optimist, he simply adores her yet keeps calling her Aunty at work (to Ha Ri’s mortified embarrassment).
Her search for Mr. Right Now (for baby-making purpose) caused quite a scandal which affected her position at work and even the publishing company itself. What shall Ha Ri do? Bow down to corporate pressure and apologise for her thoughtless actions or stand her ground and seek the reason why it is unacceptable for a woman to have a baby without having to get married.
Only 6 episodes in and I find myself crying fat tears in 2 epsiodes and rooting for my Bae to be her partner (not necessarily marrying her) in her quest. Jang Na Ra and Go Joon has on-screen CHEMISTRY unlike the other couple CoughTKEMCough.
To see Hawt Yi Sang being super cute when drunk was a treat! Hahahaha! How can you be SO KYOOOTT?!
Binge-watched this drama on a Friday afternoon.
By 8pm, I’m totally invested in Oh My Baby.
